Who are we?
We were formed in July of 1990 by local
NAR
members who felt that there was a need in the Delaware Valley to organize, and promote their hobby. PARA members are of all ages and have diverse interests within the hobby. Our members build model rockets that fly on 1/2 A engines, to high powered rockets, weighing
100 pounds flying on
an
M engine (not all at our field). We are committed to the advancement of the rocketry hobby and the promotion of safety and education.
We have periodic club meetings, although most business is
conducted via E-mail. We are always open to ideas for future
launches. We schedule sport launches the first Sunday of
each month (weather permitting or some other conflict). PARA welcomes rocketeers of all ages and levels of experience. We offer a fun way to fly your rockets in safety with a great group of people who share your interest in rocketry.
Our flight field is located at the
Hallowell Farm in central Bucks County
(See Directions to Site). The farm owner has been very generous and gone out of his way to make us feel welcome on his property. This location has even proven adequate for flying some of our larger
rockets (Note: we are limited to rocket weights of up to 3.3 lbs. and small H motors,
unless we have a waiver, and Conditions Permitting)
PARA welcomes all visitors. If you would like to attend a PARA sport launch before deciding to join, be our guest and bring your rockets. We look forward to meeting you!
